Admission Regulations
Long Term Programs
Students applying for SIT and/or ICM Programs should meet the following requirements:

Applicants should have obtained a minimum of C grade and above in all subjects they undertook either in form IV, Form VI, or College (if application is being made for Advanced Diploma). Form IV and equivalent levels are being admitted in Certificate Diploma courses only.

For those applying for Computer Programming and Database Management, applicants should have undertaken Science in their previous studies and a minimum of C grade in Mathematics is required.

Diploma in Professional Computing & Data Processing is available to those students with a Certificate in Professional Computing & Data Processing or its equivalent. For those with other previous computer studies qualifications, pre-admission examination is arranged for final decisions.
Students applying for Short Course Programs (Computer and Business Studies)

Computer Short Courses are available to students of any background of studies.

Business Short Courses are available to form IV leavers and above. No prior requirement is needed.
Students applying for International Languages studies

Any student applying for a level other than Elementary Level, should sit for an interview examination before the final decision should be made.

Special Talking classes and Elementary Level are available to students of any level.

During Registration, students must present the following documents to the SIT admission office:
- Every student shall report at the Institute at the beginning of every term or semester and on a prescribed date by the Institute. Any student who fails to report on the prescribed date but reports not later than seven days from the date of reporting and without showing any reasonable cause for the failure to do so, shall be liable to receive a written warning from the Registrar.
- Students who have postponed studies will be required to report at the Institute at the corresponding time/date and term similar to that one she/he left.
- No change of names by students is entertained during the course of study at the Institute. Names appearing on the original academic certificates shall be used.
- No student is allowed to change course, except in very exceptional circumstances. In the latter case, no student is allowed to change course later than the Friday of the fourth week after the beginning of the First Term session.
- No student is allowed to postpone studies after commencement of an academic year except under special circumstances. Permission to postpone studies is considered after producing satisfactory evidence for the reasons of postponement and written approval from the sponsor.
- Students shall be allowed to be away from studies for a maximum of two academic years if they are to be allowed for re-admission to the same year of studies where they left.
- Students discontinued from studies because of examination irregularities will be reconsidered for re-admission after they have been away for three academic years. They will be required to re-apply with other applicants for re-admission into first year.
